You are eligible to vote in the Saanich election if you meet all of the following:

- Be 18 years of age or older on election day (October 17th 2026)

- Be a Canadian citizen

- Been a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months prior to registering to vote (April 2026 if registering in October 2026)

- Be a resident of the District of Saanich (no minimum days required)

- Not be disqualified by law from voting

If you need to register in person at the time of voting, you must bring two (2) pieces of acceptable identification that provide evidence of your identity and place of residence to the voting location. One item must contain the voter’s signature and one item must contain the voter's address. You address on your ID must be in Saanich. If you need to update your adress due to recently moving (I.E. you are starting/returning to post-secondary), you may do so at this website AddressChangeBC.
